Going from SA to Zambia & back, do I need Yellow Fever injections & certificate. If so, how many days prior to arrival in Zam should I get shots?

As of May 2011 it has been a mandatory requirement for SA/Zambia and Zambia/SA travellers to have a yellow fever vaccination (and the certificate to prove it). You need it 10 days prior to arrival (the incubation period is 6 days, so if you aren't vaccinated you'll spend 6 days in isolation). The inoculation is good for 10 years. over 6 years ago

On 20 July The Tourism Safety Initiative said: "The South African Department of Health would like to make it very clear that proof of yellow fever vaccination is NOT a requirement for travel at RSA ports of entry or exit for passengers from Zambia." over 6 years ago
