I highly recommend " The EasyRider". They are tour guides are a motorcycle. They can be found pretty much anywhere in Vietnam. Ask around and someone will know where to find them. Instead of taking a bus to your next destination, you hire them to hitch a ride or you can ask to rent your own motorcycle to ride along. They will take you through the backroads. It will cost about $40 - 60 per day pending on the duration of your trip. Try to negotiate your price.

I also highly recommend the city, Hoi'an. I love the charming village feel to this city. It's located along the coast about half way in between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). If you are flying, the nearest airport is in the city of Da Nang. From there, inquire about the transportation options at the tourist info desk. I end up taking a taxi.
