Best to tour Vietnam or venture to surrounding countries? Would like to do a lot but not feel too rushed. A couple in our early 20s. Can do night buses or cheap flights. Whats a good route?
with your three weeks, you have very good time to explore whole Vietnam. our two families of 8person will visit Vietnam in this December. We have only 8day max, but would like to see highlights of Vietnam.
We have very good itinerary from www.travelindochine.net. you can see for your trip planning
we fly into Saigon, stay here with visit mekong delta 3 days then have flight to Hue. stay here 1 night before heading to Hoi An for relax (we stay Hoi An trails resort)
then to Hanoi & day trip to Halong Bay
I believed you can plan your trip better me. Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Sapa also good place for you.
From Saigon you also use bus to Cambodia & visit Angkor
If you like to use cheap flight, you can go with Jetstar but i prefer Vietnam airlines

Asia has lots to do and is rich for great experiences. The downside is three weeks won't get you very far - if you try to do too much you'll just skim across it. I'd recommend you stick to Vietnam with * possibly * a side trip to Angkor Wat.
Check my other answers for route, since I've answered this one before!
Have a great trip; it's a wonderful country. over 9 years ago
Vietnam are fine...flew with them many times last year, & it looked like a lot of the planes were newer than other airlines.
There is also Pacific Airlines which is part owned by Vietnam Airlines which flies between major cities there. Is cheaper than Vietnam airlines & they were fine too.
if you come to Vietnam, you can choose Vietnam Airlines http://www.vietnamflight.net , it is excellent almost 9 years ago
