W're looking to take the family to Vietnam next February, probably flying into Ho Chi Minh. We'll be a group of 8 which includes teenage as well as younger children. My thoughts are to book our first night or two, then sort out where we go and where we stay once we're there. Is this foolhardy?

There are so many hotels in Ho Chi Minh city, so it’s not difficult to find accommodation for a group of 8. The point is how to find the best one. Therefore, I seriously advise you to create detailed travel itinerary to avoid wasting time and money. Then, it is easier for you to choose the most suitable hotels for your travel plan. To book in advance, you can use some popular website to save money. They can be www.agoda.com or www.booking.com. Hope it helps. about 4 years ago

Agree with Molly, Agoda is fantastic at finding last minute accommodation. Have you thought about hiring a villa in HCM? - Lisa about 4 years ago

Thanks for the info. A villa sounds like an excellent idea, is Agoda the place to find them too?
We're keen to get out and about, we want to get out of the city and explore a bit, maybe take a trip up the Mekong into Cambodia, hence the 'do some research but sort out what we actually do when we get there' idea. Sounds like you're advising against that though...?
