Hey Nomads,

So my father and I are doing a 1 month motorbike trip from Hà Nội in the north to Ho Chi Minh in the south, and although we have some rough ideas of where to go the only thing thats really locked in is that I need to be in Ho Chi Minh by the time my flight departs on the 9th of December.

What I would really love is if anyone could throw out some ideas for places to visit that are, as the tittle suggests, off the beaten track. Personal experiences would be ideal.

Of course we do plan on hitting some of the tourist traps, Halong Bay for example. But its the more remote places that are so hard to stumble upon by yourself that im really interested in seeing.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

You must have watched top gear when they did it. If not, try and you tube their trip and find where they went. Not quite sure where they started or finished but it wasn't all the tourist route and the scenery was amazing. about 7 years ago
