Hi, Have you booked the air ticket yet? So Vietnam will be your first destination, then Laos and Cambodia?

I would like to know when will you arrive to Vietnam.

In think it should be the best if you arrive to Noi Bai Airport (In Hanoi, the North of Vietnam), then travel around and then move to the Middle of Vietnam, then visit Hochiminh city (The South of Vietnam), and Mekong Delta.

After that, you can buy the bus ticket very easy from Hochiminh city to go to Cambodia (just take around 5 hours by bus)

Ps: If you need for more detail about the places to go from the North, the Middle and the South of Vietnam, Pls feel free to contact me via my email: EmmaWong248@gmail.com.
Or if you dont have time, you can take a look at this website to find more information about where to go and what to do in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Last time when my husband came to Vietnam, we also booked some tours of this agency and we're satisfied with their services:

Have a nice trip. over 7 years ago

Well, agree with Emma. You should start with Vietnam cos it is the most developed countries amongst the three. Get yourself up to speed with the culture so you wouldn't get a shock later on.

It would be tough to advise on itinerary cos it depends on your taste, if you like adventurous natural trekking or cultural exploration vacation. You may try tours organized by the big companies like Saigon Tourist or Viet Travel. They have tours across all 3 countries.

Or like Emma mentioned, try booking separate locally guided tours on different cities on triip.me. Structured tours you may enjoy part of it, while other part you are served with things totally out of taste. Locally guided tour you may choose what you like at each destination.

If you are not sure, I suggest you contact all of them to see which can provide you what you need. over 7 years ago

You'll need 3 weeks to do all 3 places.

cheapest way to get to Luang Prabang for you will be to fly from either Hanoi or Siem Reap so plan your holiday to co-ordinate that.

Also Mekong Express bus from/to HCMC and Phnom Penh is very comfortable and only costs about $15.

I personally did Vietnam in 3 weeks and the next year I did HCMC, then went on to Cambodia and Laos for 3 weeks. over 7 years ago

You may feel a little rushed to see all three countries in three weeks.

You will get a good sense of the highlights with the following itinerary :

Cambodia: Phnom Penh, then boat to Siem Reap (Angkor)
Then fly via Bangkok to Laos: Luang Prabang
    Fly to Ha Noi
Bus to and from Ha Long Bay
Train from Ha Noi to Hue
    Driver to Hoi An
Train, bus or fly to Saigon.

Personally, I much preferred Laos and Cambodia over Viet Nam, especially the north of Viet Nam. I'm an independent traveller, but I'd suggest hiring a guide for the north of Vietnam - someone who not only knows what to see and do, the best ways to do it, and speaks the language, but also someone who can run interference for you with people grabbing your arm and shouting "you buy, you buy" at you, and can make sure you are charged a fair price (and yes, I believe it is perfectly ok to pay more as a tourist ... But I don't think it is fair for the seller to pretend that the agreed upon price is no longer the price ... Something that happened frequently to me in the north). over 7 years ago
