I want to fly from uk to either Hanoi or HCMC and then travel the length of Vietnam flying out of the other airport. Any suggestions
Train are a good way to travel in Vietnam, more comfortable than buses , especially the small ones, cheap too.sleeper trains good choice if your on a budget (save a nights accomodation) much more likely to get a decent sleep than on the sleeper bus.
Really depends though how long you have, what sort of budget, travel preferences and sense of adventure. Met 2 girls cycling Vietnam and Cambodia., another young guy doing HCM to Hanoi on a motorbike.. Hireling a car and driver can get you to some off the tourist route places.if you have a bit of spare cash maybe around $100 a day
Which direction to travel, depends on what time of year, studying weather forcasts carefully and then a lot of luck!
Have a great trip over 5 years ago
I have done this trip from the UK. I went south to north half by train which is a good experience however after 2 over night train trips we decided that we would book a cheep fligh from hoi an to Hanoi as the train took 12 hours. It's an amazing country you will have a great time over 5 years ago
