Go to City Bakery for the best Hot Chocolate with Marshmallow - perfect thing to do in December: http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/city_bakery/
Go Ice skating at Bryant Park (but the wait might be really long). Still, it's worth seeing how everything is lit up: http://www.bryantpark.org/
Pass by Macy's department store (or shop if you want) by Herald Square - it's lit up nicely.
Holiday light show at Time Warner Building: http://shopsatcolumbuscircle.com/hours-and-events#2145391525
Rockefeller Center: See the big Christmas tree - but beware of huge crowds. There is also ice skating there too. Probably more expensive. (By the way there's also an ice skating rink in Central Park as well.)
See if you fancy a broadway show, or a show at the Lincoln Center: http://new.lincolncenter.org/live/
