A safe bet for seafood is Legal Seafood... they are a chain (a classy one though) and can be found in several spots throughout the city. The North End is safe for Italian, but I would recommend Carlos in Allston near the corner of Brighton and Harvard Ave. If you want nostagic Boston go to Durgin Park in Faneuil Hall. The best steak I have ever had was at a restaurant called Plaza III, also in Faneuil Hall. Don't eat at Cheers. about 9 years ago

Taranta in the North End has great Italian food ... also they are pretty much entirely organic (wine included), which is kind of cool. For seafood go to the harbor area. There are a ton of top notch restaurants over there if you want your clam chowda fix. If you are near Fenway Park, check out Citizens Public House & Oyster Bar. The food there is awesome and if you are a fan of whiskey, they have it every way you could want it. about 9 years ago

B&G Oysters in the South End is excellent for obviously, oysters but they have a full seafood menu which is excellent if oysters aren't your thing. Grill 23 is the best steak house in the city and Plaza III closed a while back. If you are looking for Italian, most places in the North End are a safe bet but a couple of favorites are Giacomo's, Panza and Bricco. about 9 years ago
