The obvious one would be Mount Rushmore but I would also add Wall Drug, the Badlands, the Crazy Horse monument and the corn palace in Mitchell. over 6 years ago

At the College of Mining and Technology, the Museum of Geology has fascinating displays of fossilized remains of prehistoric animals from the Badlands area. It's free, and staffed by students SO eager to answer questions. It can be tricky to find on campus, but just ask any of the students. Also good: the Journey Museum has lots on regional history. Both recommended for adults and older kids. We also enjoyed the displays of historic planes (outside) and the museum Ellsworth Air Force Base. over 6 years ago

Thanks! Are there any local restaurants that I should try while I'm there? It's just me and another girl and we're both in our twenties so any bar suggestions are good too. over 6 years ago

Definitely hit up Alpine Inn in Hill City. If you are going downtown Rapid City Delmonico Grill has the best steaks and Murphys has an awesome tap beers selection and Botticellis is the best italian by far. over 6 years ago
