  • See the Book of Mormon. Check out Highline Park and Hudson River Park. Go to Occupy Wall St financial district! The E Village has tons of fun dive bars that are worth checking out because you'll meet the most interesting people there. Doree Simon over 6 years ago

    1) go to the show Fuerza Bruta @ the Daryl Roth Theatre - exciting show and absolutely one of a kind
    2) visit the bar/speakeasy named Back Room (also referred by some as Lower East Side Toy Company) - pays tribute to prohibition bars in every since
    3) have a beer at McSorley's Old Ale House, a bar that opened in 1854 and prohibited women inside until required to open in 1970 - good history over 6 years ago

I saw someone mention McSorley's. This is definitely a must do in NYC. It is a historical establishment! They serve only two kinds of beer...light or dark! And I have to say the atmosphere is as great as the brews!
Also in Chinatown there is a place that is in the basement of a building and it is actually a table tennis training facility. You can play there or just go to watch the pros showcase their paddle skills. You might be able to find it on google if you look up American table tennis association in NY or something. And definitely do what the other person said and go to the back room! Very cool atmosphere! over 6 years ago

If you take the 6 train in the downtown direction and stay in the train after the last stop, you can see a secret stop! One that hasn't been functioning for years now, but that the train goes through as it loops to go back uptown. Architectonically and historically speaking, the place is a gem! over 6 years ago
