Not much direction there, Elise. Eat on the wharf at Gilda's, walk the cliffs at the lighthouse and West Cliff Drive, visit one of the many State Park beaches, take in something at the Kuumbwa Jazz center, visit Long Marine Lab and see one of 4 blue whale skeletons in the country, ride the narrow gauge in Felton, go to the Mystery Spot for spookiness, hang out on Pacifc Garden Mall for coffee and weird little shops, walk in one of the 3 local redwood state parks, visit Watsonville and pretend you are in a pleasant Mexican village, visit one of the local wetland parks for birding, visit UCSC and see the most beautiful science library in the world...or, visit the board walk. Enjoy the town. over 6 years ago

Santa Cruz is great fun, but one of my favorites in Kayaking with the Sea Otters. Kayak Connection has a great deal... For $35 you get the open top kayak and a wetsuit for four hours. over 6 years ago

Rent a board in Capitola! it's one of the best places to learn how to surf in the world. Just watch put for some of the locals. Also, I would take a drive up highway 1. It's right along the coast and there are a lot of shops and beaches to stop at. Be sure to check out UCSC, one of the most beautifully colleges in the world ( ask about the UCSC trailer park and walk around, but don't drive through it) over 5 years ago
