South Street is the home of the American Punk Rock movement back in the day. Check out Zipperhead and the surrounding shops. Aldo, hit up Geno's Cheesesteaks. If you did art, hit museum row. My favorite is the Rodin Museum. There is a HUGE casting of The Gates of Hell. I was spellbound. Just looking at all the different panels representing the various groups of lost souls, was amazing with the thinker above and the Fates on the top. Or you can just go down to the Philly art museum and get your pic taken with Rocky on the steps.
The Masonic Grand Temple is beautiful and full of interesting things, but it kind of gave me the creeps. ;) over 9 years ago

If you like art, you should go to The Philadelphia Art Museum, or the PaFa which has great modern art. There's also the historical part of the city (Old City) where there's tons of historical places such as the City Hall and Liberty Bell. There's this little neighborhood about half an hour away from the city which is called Chestnut Hill, it's a fantastic cute little town full of antiques, handmade crafts, great food, lovely people and lots of interesting things to see. over 9 years ago

Visit Philly go the local tourist organization has one of the best website for tourist information that brilliantly covers everything to do in Philly. You are not going to find nicer people any where, when you get there ask the locals and they will give you a lot of information. There is also a Philadelphia magazine that list everything going on and has the best listing of places to eat. There now is great food in Philly as well as cheese steaks and pretzels. about 9 years ago
