Rent a car and drive around the whole perimeter. Great things to see off the beaten path! The coconut candy is delish! over 9 years ago

I liked Paia town and the beach just down from there offers great spots to watch the surfers, wind and kite surfers.
Don't miss Haleakala Park and if you can, spend the entire day hiking into the crater (I capmed there overnight and hiked out the Kaipo gap then hitched to Hana). I also really enjoyed Waihe'e Valley and the "Swinging Bridges" hike. Great fun. over 9 years ago -

Drive the road to Hanna..and don't just head back! stay a few days and see what REAL Hawaii used to be like..AND DO NOT MISS booking a reservation with Armin for a Hang Gliding ride out of Hanna Airport! You will see some absolutely amazing sights in the air! over 9 years ago
