The Keys are lovely, with a week you could really explore it. Look at the inner coastal area up by Vero Beach etc. Good kayaking there, as well as in the Blue Cypress conservation area. That's also Cape Canaveral country further north.

Yeehaw junction, blink and you miss it, but it's a historic junction, and the Desert Inn is a cool spot to grab a beer and burger for lunch; very local ( or used to be)

St Petersburg has a Dali Museum.

If you can squeeze it in, go to Shark Valley and rent bikes for the 15 mile loop into the Everglades...you'll pass dozens of gators sunning themselves along the path...and lots of beautiful birdlife. over 7 years ago

St. Augustine is beautiful. The keys are beautiful as well. I always enjoy central Florida for a more "southern" experience. over 7 years ago

The St Pete/Clearwater area offers a lot of variety. As mentioned there is the Dali museum. The beaches in Clearwater are some of the most gorgeous you will ever see, especially if you can get out to Honeymoon Island and the state park. over 7 years ago
