    Fer,
    it's no less safe than other parts of Manhattan. The tourist areas are generally very safe. The subway stations are patrolled by uniformed police. As in any part of any city, certain streets can get dangerous after dark, so stick to the bright lights.
    The notion that north of 125th street is dangerous is a hangover from the bad old days. NYC is NOT the hotbed of crime it once was.
    There are some great walking tours and guided tours of Harlem that are popular with visitors and New Yorkers alike. They're pretty easy to find if you search NY tourism sites.

    Perfectly safe, but like anywhere dont wander if your not in the tourist areas. Covos is a great itallian restaurant near fairways and if you want some authentic flavor eat at mannas soul food and hit that Apollo tour and the Aftican American museum on 125th is Awesome! over 7 years ago
