Grove Park is quite nice. They just added some pet friendly rooms. If your out for golf their course is pretty cool. You'll have to drive to downtown but it's not far. The spa is pricey but nice. There are other options for your stay depending on what your interests are. over 7 years ago

It depends. There is such a variety to what makes Asheville unique - many different sides of the city. If you're looking to get pampered and you don't have to worry about money, GPI is a lovely option. I personally would choose to rent something downtown where all the food and great beer are. Some of my favorites are Curate, Jack of the Wood, Bouchon or Wasabi. There's even better food in West Asheville, but your only sleeping option is a hostel. If you have the money, don't miss eating at the Admiral, but reserve a spot 2 weeks in advance if you're going on a weekend, 1 week otherwise. If you don't have the money, eat at Bandidos. And, of course, Sunny Point for breakfast if you don't mind waiting for a table. over 7 years ago
