Depends, of course, on what you like, but I can highly recommend La Cachette Bistro. Here's a link to their Web site: http://www.lacachettebistro.com/ over 7 years ago

The Lobster located at the front of the Santa Monica Pier. Valet park, have a wonderful dinner and then take a lovely walk on the pier for a perfect evening. Order the crab enchiladas. Exquisite!

I recommend Rustic Canyon , a nice restaurant with a range of delicious dishes. Not cheap but great, lively ambiance and wine selection. Same people run Huckleberry, a light brunch style eatery with excellent baked options. You order at the counter. Fave is eggs over easy on market vegetables. Yummy organic food at Kreation. over 7 years ago

Any restaurants on Santa Monica Pier or Third Street Promenade is good but Bubba Gumps is pure amazing! Make sure you sit outside so you can glaze at the Santa Monica beach. Be prepared for Forrest Gump questions! about 7 years ago

The pier and third street promenade are for the tourists and as such are the most overpriced and (more likely) mediocre.

Best bets are going east on Wilshire: NY&C Pizza, El Cholo, Milo & Olive, Huckleberry, Umami Burger, Fritto Misto

Or to Main st. to the south: Brick & Mortar, Sunny Blue, Library Alehouse, Venice Alehouse among others

Also, check out the Farmer's market in the parking lot of The Victorian on Sunday 9am-1pm over 5 years ago
