I am going to Portland, OR in 3 weeks for work. Could you recommend good dinner spots to experience the best local vibe?

One of my FAVORITE cities to eat in! Jakes on SW Stark and 13th is a classic Portland seafood place; very old school, but I like to sidle up to the bar for a meal and a well made cocktail.
Clyde Common is modern, local, fresh fare, good crowd, light and airy space.
Food trucks are on O Bryant Sq I believe. Name a cuisine and there's a truck offering it!
Pearl district is chocka with places. I like Andina (Peruvian) great space, and beautifully prepared food.
Gruner on SW 12, Austrian fare, fabulous spot and meal.
For breakfast food-don;t miss the Pearl Bakery, and quirky"bike messenger' type of place is Voodoo Doughnut-walk in only, cool grungy spot with a wonderful maple and bacon doughnut. It is also near Stumptown Coffee which makes a great cup.
Over on the other side of the river on Burnside (NE) is the funky log cabin, young vibe Doug Fir Lounge. over 9 years ago -
Don't forget The Beast for a great gourmet meal. The chef has been featured in Wine and Food. She matches wine with her great courses. Most unusual and best food for a night out. All other establishments mentioned earlier are great. We're from Iowa and know god food ( and we love the wine). over 9 years ago
