I'm staying in Boulder for about 4 months.. My man's already over there for work so accommodation is sorted. I'm just wondering what on earth I'm actually going to do for all that time.

Was also wondering if there are websites around to meet and make contact with others travelling to the same destinations?

Go to the mountains! There are Rocky Mountains National park, many beautiful lakes and trails, incredible teahouse (authentic Tajikistan - from Dushanbe, Boulder's sister-city), Avery Brewing Company, Boulder Farmers' Market, Film festival, outdoor cinema, Shakespeare festival, Boulder Theater, Lucille's -breakfast restaurant, 2 gourmet food trucks, and few fancy restaurants: frasca, the med, the kitchen, and jax, etc.... about 9 years ago

The area around Evergreen is also nice. Western outpost towns like Evergreen, Morrison etc that go along the canyon road and hug Red Rocks Amphitheatre are a nice day or weekend trip. Try to see a concert there if you can and stay overnight at a B&B in Morrison. Cafe Prague is a nice restaurant, and the Morrison Tavern is a real locals place with an outdoor patio and live music.
Golden is a cool little town too with a small but impressive geology museum associated with the university department there. Excellent rocks, and amazing minerals from the area.

Some river guide operators offer river trips that end up in Golden, perfect to end the day sampling at the Coors brewery! almost 9 years ago

Day trips to nearby towns are a good time too. Head to Nederland or Estes park. Rock mountain national park is great as well. There is a tiny little mountain town called Pine Cliff too; there is absolutely nothing there, but the drive to it from Nederland is a nice ride through the evergreen forest that I take when I need to get away from the city.

Boulder is a strange *cough::hippy:cough* college town, but a lot of fun. You will need to enjoy the outdoors to really enjoy the culture of Boulder or you will find yourself driving into the Northglenn or Denver area every day :) almost 9 years ago

Boulder is a university town. There are always activities on the campus, movies, theater, museum, etc. The campus itself is beautiful. Walk around the town, especially the west side. T he Pearl St. mall is an on going show, especially during the summer. Boulder is not a small town in terms of restaurants, culture, etc. It is a very rich place. You need never be bored at all. almost 9 years ago
