Want to avoid slushy mushy snow snakes!
Squaw is cool if you are monied like Hilton Hier. For the budget minded skier, try Colorado. A season pass is still under $500 and most places, like Winter Park Resort will allow two weeks of free skiing in April on next year's season pass. Rates for lodging are generally deeply discounted as this is the beginning of the low season. Breackenridge, Vail Resorts and Aspen also have comprable deals as these resorts are all competing for your ski dollars. Stay and ski packages are available, but often require double occupancy. Check www.skiwinterpark.com for details and reservations. Closest to Denver Internatiional Airport, Winter Park offers a great family skiing experience as well as the sick-diddly-ick Mary Jane Mountain for those with a more courageous spirit. almost 10 years ago
