Lets see... it depends what you are really into. LA is huge with lots of culture so use.

I am partial to the Studio tour at Universal CityWalk, because I work here at the Hilton in Universal City (hotel is fairly central with the metro in walking distance - You can get most places in LA from the metro). However, there is also tours of Warner Bros, Disney, Dreamworks, Paramount, and NBC. It is a very Hollywood way to start your trip.

If its nice weather do Venice beach for people watching, street vendors and muscle Beach. Or Santa Monica with the pier and 3rd street promenade (pricey but one of those things you should at least visit - Actually add Rodeo Drive in that category as well).

Classic dining in LA includes everything from In-N-Out Burger (fastfood but noted for fresh not frozen) to an elegant dinner with skyline views at Yamashiro. Also try Pinks (bit of a wait but worth it for a locally famous hot dog), and the Farmers Market is awesome. I've heard that Charley’s Café is good there, but I always try something new each time. You can also visit the Grove open shopping center while you are there. Yang Chow in Chinatown is also very good.

Other LA favorites include Graumin’s Chinese theater, Walk of Fame, Madame Tussauds of Hollywood, Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm (Anaheim), Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia), Griffith Observatory (reservations required), Hollywood Bowl concerts if you can catch one... Dodger or Angel Stadium, trolleys to visit stars homes from downtown or hollywood. There is also Angels Flight and the Lummis house downtown.

LA Live has a lot to offer as well, including the Grammy Museum. Sports fan? ...might also want to stop by the Staples Center. LA Coliseum or Rose Bowl.

If you are an Art buff you can visit Getty Museum and Villa, Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, MOCA, or LACMA to name a few. Also great art districts in downtown, Culver City, etc.

In the evening check out Teddy’s, Priviledge, Les Deux, Parc, Mood, Skybar, Roxy, Tryst, Whiskey (a-go-go), The Spyder Club, The Viper Room, House of Blues or Saddle Ranch for a variety of different vibes.

Hope that gives you a little bit to go off of. Have a GREAT trip! over 8 years ago

If it's your first time here and you want to see the main things like Hollywood Sign, Mann's Chinese, etc. I would stay somewhere central so you have easy access. LA is big and spread out. It's hard to suggest without knowing what you like, but here some suggestions: sunset blvd, Hollywood sign, Mann's Chinese theater, Venice beach, rodeo drive. If you can tell me more about yourself, I can make more customized suggestions. Hope this helps. about 8 years ago
