    The UK is great if you get out of the big cities. Try visiting smaller remoter places: Bamborough Castle in Northumberland, Vindalandia on Hadrian's Wall, Windemere on the Lake District (but watch the movie "Swallows and Amazons" first), Portmeiron in North Wales, St Ives in Cornwall, etc. etc. Grab your favourite book from the UK and go to the places described. Also Edinburgh festival is on about now. See the Tattoo live! Then, when the weather starts to cool, head to Perth, Australia. Fly/drive/hitch as far North as you can, say Kunnanurra and then work southwards as the weather heats up. Watching the two Red Dog movies would be a good preparation. over 1 year ago
