I know Carolina Beach is pretty good. Is there more further north. Google maps looks promising but it doesn't look like it is populated.

    Wrightsville Beach is my favorite - near the town of Wilmington, Wrightsville has a good beach town vibe, surfers, family fun. about 8 years ago

    Carolina Beach was nice when we were there in August.

    Remember your sunscreen between 12 - 2pm though, my Spanish friend thought he was tough and got completely roasted about 8 years ago

    Ocean Isle Beach is a great family beach, and only 40 minutes from Myrtle Beach if you want the wild stuff. over 7 years ago

    The Nags Head and Corolla beaches On the Outer Banks have great public popular beaches. They are beautiful unspoiled beaches. Not as commercialized as most. Many historical places of interest in the area as well. Great family destination. over 7 years ago

    I'm sitting at the best beach in NC but I'm not sharing. If you want uppity fun then go to Wrightsville. Biker low key trash then take Carolina. family...Emerald Isle. boring old folks...Outer Banks. thet are pretty and have goo surfing but not much else. over 7 years ago

    Topsail Beach! My family has been going there since the military stopped testing bombs on it after WWII ... of course it has grown up a bit, but it is a wonderful family beach! over 7 years ago

    Carolina Beach is the beach I grew up on and recently inherited a house there. It used to be a "rough" beach people-wise, but this has changed for the better over the last 10 years. about 7 years ago
