First of all, don't miss the road to Hana trip. It's fantastic! You can rent a car and go on your own or find a guided tour. Another thing I absolutely loved was dolphin sighting and snorkeling. For these activities, we went on Lanai Island. It was breath-taking to see wild dolphins swimming so close to our rafting boat. Depending on when you are going, you might also have the chance to see whales. about 4 years ago

I agree with Andreea, the road to Hana is awesome! We rented a car and did the road trip at our own pace. We also camped at the Wai'anapanapa State Park where you can find a black sand beach, underwater caves, and lava tubes.

Visiting Haleakala, a massive shield volcano, and watching the sunrise from its peak is amazing. If it's a cloudy day you'll see the colors of the sunrise paint the clouds in hues or pink and orange. If you can go up to the observatory at night you'll see an unobstructed view of the universe - I'd never seen this many stars in my life!

The Oheo gulch (or Seven Sacred pools of Oheo) is also worth checking out, and a day-trip to Molokini for some snorkeling if you're keen for some water activities.

Visiting the art galleries and restaurants in Lāhainā is also quite nice. about 4 years ago

    Hi Alicia,

Second Ms. Bilimoria's suggestions, particularly Haleakala - it's awesome!
