Planning to visit the ruins around Ollantaytambo (Peru), a guidebook indicates it's the best example of an Incan village and worth spending time there. Tour company that I'm working with doesn't think so. I enjoy walking around small towns to photograph. Is the village large enough to spend a few hours or more?

I think it's worth. I found it to be an impressive place and with very special energy. It shows on the photos. There are a few more sacred towns nearby in the Vale Sagrado (Sacred Valley, apropos), so if you have time get a van/taxi and cover a few in a day. over 3 years ago
