When leaving the USA is it possible to get the taxes we paid back?
We leave from Miami and we were told that some airports have treasury departments that will give tourists the tax they paid back to them.
Anyone know which airports?

State sales taxes collected where you buy things (where you take delivery) are not refundable just because you live in a different state or country. It would only be refunded if you returned those items where you bought them and your purchase price was refunded (along with sales tax for that amount).

We asked in the airport information department and they said that international tourists can get their state tax (only sales tax paid in that state) back when they leave particular states: Texas, California, New York plus one other I can't remember. over 10 years ago
