Im an Indian traveling to the US this summer, planning to spend about 12 days in NYC and 6-8 days in Chicago. If you know the city well, I would love some tips on interesting and uniquely local nooks and corners. My interests include food, music, art, culture, film, vintage fashion, local markets - so any discoveries would really elevate my experience.
Thanks in advance!
They're both great cities to visit. I have mo doubt you will have a fabulous time!
In NYC, you'll probably spend most of your time in Manhattan. I would suggest going to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. Fighter planes and a Space Shuttle on an air craft carrier from WW2.
The American Museum of Natural History. It's great. If you like museums, there are a lot (many famous ones) around Central Park, which you should at least walk through.
Catch a show on or off Broadway. Go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island!
In Chicago, book tickets for the Wendella boat Architecture tour. (wendellaboats.com - if you search, you can probably find a discount code or groupon for a cheaper ticket) You'll want to go downtown for more culture and art here.
Get a map and wander the streets of both cities during the day. You should be able to find some good walking tours in both cities that will cover different areas of the city if you search online. Have fun! about 5 years ago
