Since I've never heard of an eftpos card, I'd have to say you'd better bring the visa! :) over 10 years ago

I'm not sure about at point of sale. But when I'm in the US, I have no problems going to an ATM and pulling out a chunk of cash with my savings card. As long as your savings card has the Maestro symbol you'll be able to use it at most ATMs in USA, you get hit with a fee, but I doubt it's any worse than the international credit card fees I get hit with.

I generally use my VISA for anything big, and keep cash on hand for the smaller stuff. USA is extremely credit card friendly though, even for smaller stuff. over 10 years ago

If your Eftpos card has a Cirrus logo on the back, you will probably be able to use it at a Cirrus enabled ATM - which most of them are. I haven't done it, so you should check with your bank to verify :) over 10 years ago
