I'm heading to New York later in the year, are there any restaurants that I really shouldn't miss?

I'm fairly open to pretty much any cuisine, looking for something relatively fine dining.

I'm also looking for an awesome bagel shop after having to suffer through the circular rolls that Tasmanian shops keep trying to tell me are 'bagels'.

More restaurants open each day in this city than you could visit - there's so many it would be difficult to recommend a single choice. The good news is that great restaurants and food in NYC is easy to find!

If you want to research I would check the ZAGAT guide and also Yelp's NYC section. Nearly every restaurant I went to in NYC had a ZAGAT rating, so you'll be sure to find plenty of recommendations.

I second Ian's comment. I have never had a bad meal in the City and there is so many places it really is hard to narrow down a favorite. I would recommend Kasadela, http://www.kasadela.com/. I would also recommend Carnegie Deli for lunch (it's a classic). For bagels, you can happily get some kick ass bagels at Juniors! almost 12 years ago

If you are going to be here during nice weather don't pass up brunch at The Boat House in Central Park. The view of the row boats on the lake and the open air dinning is excellent. over 11 years ago
