What is a good place in LA to stay for a week?
I am going to be in LA for a week in June and would like to know where in the city is nice and relatively cheap to stay.

Try the motels around Anaheim, they are cheap, clean and close to Disneyland and (Best Western ect) in the heart of Orange County. Food is cheap and plentiful as is public transport. It is about an hour and one half to LA central from there but you are also halfway to San Diego and Ocenside for a vist as well. almost 12 years ago

If you are going to be in downtown LA, I don't know what's nice. If you're in south LA closer to Santa Ana, I recommend the following:
Irvine
Newport
Dana Point [furthest south]
Those are my favorite places to stay, and are much more laid back than the city. Do NOT stay in these locations if you are commuting towards LA during rush hour traffic and your destination is not nearby. If you are traveling on business, I would stay close to where you work. almost 12 years ago -
I would say nice and cheap to not mix in LA. If you want nice, which should take precedent over cheap when in LA then target the following cities/areas: Santa Monica, Playa Del Rey, Manhattan beach, and for more of an urban flare then try around the Miracle Mile. almost 12 years ago
