On my way to Europe I am thinking I might stop for 2 weeks in Los Angeles. I want to get to Austin, Texas and I want to get to New York. Where can I find cheap flights?

Virgin have flights direct to LA from Sydney as of February 2009. You could also try United Airlines, but they aren't as cheap these days due to the weakened Aussie dollar.

Check mobissimo.com for the cheapest flights, they search other airline sites for you. Also check kayak.com. These search engines are good for flights within the US.

If flying to new york get a flight to lua guardia (spelling?) airport in long island rather than jfk as these flights are generally cheaper.

Ian's advice is solid. You might also want to try a suipplier-direct method. I've found rates cheaper on AA's website than the major online booking engines if only booking air, but the best packaging prices are not NOT supplier-direct.

I found that for multi-city search, a supplier-direct method can be your best option. Pick the dates you want to depart / arrive and search on AA.com. I recently flew from Dallas -> Orange County [17 days] -> Fort Walton Beach, FL [4 days] -> Dallas for around $500 only one week in advance.

Additionally, flights to/from Europe from the US are very cheap right now everywhere, so now is a good time to travel. almost 12 years ago

One other bit of advice: If you are flying into LAX and need to rent a car, you should be able to find cheap rentals. However, if you are flying into SNA [Orange County] or Ontario Airport, look up United Auto Rental. You can book online here: http://unitedautorental.com . I had a great experience with them last month for 2 weeks 3 days. Their rates were half the cost of others and included substantial miles. almost 12 years ago

Try on http://cheapairlineticketstola.com , they are focused to finding cheap flights related to flight coming to LA, but sometimes I was finding good deals on FROM Los Angeles to some US destinations.
Any case for me, they are best place on finding info about cheap LA tickets. (unfortinatly they are limited ONLY to Los Angeles flights) over 9 years ago

The US Airways, Aeroflot Russian Air, American Airlines are the cheapest flights between London and Los Angeles. There are other flights also. Why don't you search them at a site like yatra.com. You can have lots of options if you search them at an independed site. about 9 years ago
