DC is one of those places where there is soooooo much to do, you'll never be able to take it all in on one or two visits. The tours you would want to go on depends on several factors including what you like to do, how long you'll be in town for, and most important, your budget. Now with all of that being said, if you're going to be there for the weekend, I recommend putting on some walking shoes, grab a few bottles of water and some snacks and hit the National Mall. There you can see most of the monuments like the Lincoln Memorial, the War Memorials (World War II, Korean, Vietnam), The Washington Monument, FDR, Martin Luther King Jr. and Jefferson Memorials which are a must see for anyone going to DC. Of course, there are all of the Smithsonian Museums also, but to really appreciate them, you'll need a full day for each one....Really! over 5 years ago

Thanks for your comments. We will be there for 3 days so will do lots of walking and do the Mall. Will try a few museums as well and do the trolley hop on hop off just to give our feet a rest! over 5 years ago
