A girl friend and I are planning a trip to the Mall of America, but want to see and do other things while we're there. Is a better time of year to come than another. We're thinking the first part of August. Also, any "off the beaten path" types of places would be great too.

Grand avenue in St. Paul is super cute with some good shops and restaurants. Grab some ice cream and walk down Summit and look at the gorgeous mansions. Also try and hit up one of our thousands of lakes! There is nothing better than a beach on a hot Minnesotan summer day! almost 5 years ago

Don't miss Minnehaha Falls! Rent a bicycle for two and enjoy the park as you meander your way to the place where Longfellow was inspired to write Hiawatha. over 4 years ago

September! The weather isn't as hot or humid as the summer but it's still beautiful outside. Check out Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun & Lake Harriet areas, as well as the Mississippi River parkway by Minnehaha Park. If you're not as interested in the outdoors there's a lot of local microbreweries that offer tours, as well as the Walker Art Museum, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Guthrie...just a couple ideas. Check out vita.mn for more current listings of events. Hope you have fun! over 4 years ago
