The Triangle (also known as Research Triangle or RTP) is your best bet for a great time in NC! Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill offer a variety of things to do/places to go. Raleigh's full of museums, history, bars and pubs, nightclubs, festivals, and all the big city life. Chapel Hill's very collegiate, with great restaurants, beautiful homes, a delightful main strip, and small neighborhoods. Durham's very alternative, with great indie music venues, dive bars, gay clubs, and some seriously top-notch grub.

However, if you're looking for the beautiful/peaceful getaway side of North Carolina, try Bald Head Island off the coast. over 5 years ago

Omg if I was a tourist I would not go to the triangle! The mountains is where I would go! If I wanted a city Charlotte is where to go and Asheville.

Check out Pisgah National Forest and The Blue Ridge Parkway around "Devils Courthouse" and " Graveyard Falls" also there is the largest Indian nation on the east coast "Cherokee" there are casinos and stuff related to Indian culture. over 3 years ago
