Planning to take my three teen kids to spend two weeks in the states around Christmas time this year. I'm not sure which states should we see in this very first visit? Shopping should be one of the main objectives for my wife and kids, but certainly I like to see main attractions of two to three states. Bearing in mind the time of the year, weather should also be considered. Thanks

NYC is beautiful at Christmas, but also very expensive. Lots of shopping! Lots of museums too! Washington DC. Is also great with lots to see and do. about 6 years ago

I agree, NYC and Washington DC. You'll have a great time, but book as soon as you can if you haven't already about 6 years ago

New York City and Philadelphia on the East Coast. Plenty of attractions to visit for parents and kids. about 6 years ago

I suggest you visit Orlando, Florida and then NYC. In Orlando the kids will have so much fun, and the city is not expensive at all. In NYC you have lots of attractions, you can also go to New Jersey for shopping. And NYC is just beautiful during Christmas. about 6 years ago

San francisco! Not cold, beautiful christmas scene downtown, great shopping and nice people. Nyc is a bit chaotic around the holidays. See the nutcracker, have hot chocolate at ghiradelli, do a nighttime tour of alcatraz, ice skating and if you want snow you can head up to lake tahoe, beautiful mountains surrounding a lake with amazing ski resorts. about 6 years ago
