Griffith Park has lots of trails you can do. One being the Mt Lee and Hollywood sign walk - you'll get some great views, plus a really good look at the famous Hollywood sign. There's also Ferndell Park to the Griffith Observatory - a really popular trail that ends up at the Griffith Observatory (where they shot for Rebel Without a Cause, and many other movies).

And please, please rent a car when you visit LA. The public transport is not up to par, the city was made for driving - it is the BEST (and often the only) way to get around to cool local spots. I give this information to everyone I meet who is planning a visit to LA and Southern California. It will seriously make your life easier, better, and safer - even if at first the other drivers seem rather intense. almost 11 years ago

    Hi Michelle,

I work at the Hilton Los Angeles / Universal City and we are located up on the hills in North Hollywood area. We are central to all the major LA destination areas, with a shuttle to the metro and bus stations at the bottom of the hill. If you have more than two weeks to plan, you can take advantage of our Advanced Purchase promo (http://tinyurl.com/2f2wu6p) for added discounts.

We are very safe, with a full security team on-site and because we are up on the hill there is a feeling of distance from the main city at the bottom of the hill. Plus there is tons of entertainment and shopping with CityWalk LA and Universal Studios theme park next to us.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me - even if they are just about LA and sights and stuff. Or connect via our Social Media channels at...

Whatever you decide, have a great trip. LA is a fun and wildly touristy town. You will love it!
