Hwy 80 is not usually clogged with traffic and is nice to travel day or night. There are many places to stop along the way. There are the Amana colonies on the east side of Iowa for a little Amish flavor, Des Moines, Iowa City, Omaha, and several places to stop and visit in Nebraska including the Kool-Aid Museum, Fort Kearney, and the River Road Archway. Omaha also has a very nice zoo. In Western Nebraska, you can hook into Hwy 76 which will take you straight into Denver. In Denver I recommend the zoo and the natural history museum as well as the aquarium, but there are also several art museums as well has many wonderful places to eat. Do try bison while you are there; it is wonderful. over 8 years ago
