    It will depend on the type of car, but typically I have found Budget, Dollar or Enterprise to offer the best rates. There are a few local operators that if you find them listed in priceline or other OTAs you can be sure they are legitimate. If you really don;t mind what car you get, try bidding on it via Priceline. Often though, going direct to the rental agency you can find deals. almost 6 years ago

    Ask your travel agent, who has access to all companies' rates (at once), and can tell you about local and off-location rates. almost 6 years ago

    I've always done pretty well using the 'Hotwire' website. Picked up a car for around US$15 per day last year. almost 6 years ago
