Im in Las Angeles in October so I'm looking for accommodation and safety tips and what to do and see?
We are looking for good quality accommodation ($1-$200) a night and sightseeing. Are we safe to venture out at night,,,man and woman alone? Cheers Vicki Australia
You shouldn't have any problem finding quality accomodations for less than $200--especially because of the current economy. Do a web search and see what turns up. As far as safty, Vegas is like any other large city. Use common sense and you'll be fine. People are out on the strip and downtown at all times of day and night; we've been to Vegas a couple times a year for the past few years and we've always felt comfortable. about 7 years ago
Los Angeles is a relatively safe city, although it is incredibly sprawling. If you spend most of your time in well populated areas, you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever. A significant portion of travel around the city is done by car - as much of the city is spread out, so it's a good idea to get a rental. The high crime areas in Los Angeles are mainly on the city's outskirts, so unless you get terribly lost, you won't find yourself in trouble.
