Oh you lucky person shopping for clothes in NY!

Soho is great for vintage and quirky. So many vintage shops and little markets on Saturday mornings. Everywhere!

Century 21 is a fantastic shop near the old World Trade Centre.

Loehmanns in Chelsea for hgiher end bargains.

Syms - I forget where this is but I remember going in there and going a bit crazy.

I also really like the staples from Old Navy, GAP and Banana Republic. TShirts, pants.....

In my ideal life I would have a shopping trip to NY every year to indulge my wardrobe. over 6 years ago

Agree with Century 21. Try Strawberry also. I do also like that H&M location. We have one here in Palm Beach but I think the selection and prices are better at the NY one. Have fun! over 6 years ago

It depends on your budget. Considering New York shopping is now like a suburban mall, it has lost some of its luster. The boutiques with unique clothes are often beyond affordable, making shopping depressing at times. An alternative to a conventional store are consignment shops. Now before you snicker, often times the garments have never been worn and if they have been, they are in great shape. You can get amazing designers are bargain prices. The few that I know of are Second Time Around which as various locations throughout the city. Ina on Thompson st. You can google 'NYC consignment shops' and a variety of them will pop up. Keep in mind that there are a variety of consignment shops and budgets. There is Buffalo Exchange and Beacon's Closet which are on the less expensive side and then you have your Upper East Side shops which are comparable to catching a sale at the retail shops. Second hand shopping is fun because it is spontaneous and it is like a treasure hunt. about 5 years ago

Funny that NYC loves Joe Fresh - it is Canada's major grocery store chain's clothing label! (Loblaw's / Superstore). (And yes, I have my share of Joe Fresh stuff, bought both in NYC and Canada) :-) about 5 years ago
