We will be 6 kids (2 under 5) and 4 adults (10 all in, maybe 11) - anyone know what is the best way to get a good discount?
We'll be there late June/early July.

Best way for Disneyland is to buy one of their multi-park or multi-day passes. They have deals on their website. Not sure about Universal - I just bought tickets there over 6 years ago

For both Disney World and Universal, you can get better prices if buying multi parks or multi days. In Universal, you have 2 parks and Disney World 4 theme parks plus water parks. In Disney, if staying at one of the Disney Resorts, you can also get extra Magic Hours, which let you stay longer at the parks (parks have different magic hours, ask at the hotel). Plus you can save parking lot if staying at one of the Disney Resorts since they have busses to the parks and DownTown Disney and it's very entertaining for the kids (The All Stars Hotels are the cheapest). Check out the web page for prices (disneyworld.disney.go.com/). Kids pay less than adults (10 years old +) over 6 years ago

Yoss added that you can stay at a Disney Good Neighbor hotel and take their scheduled bus. Let me warn you: they don't run as often as you'd like, and if your traveling during peak season(s), you'll get stranded. A lot of travelers do what your doing so keep that in mind.
We went last May and found the best way to save $ was to purchase multi day AND multi park passes. We purchased a 10 day multi park pass for the entire family - 2kids 2adlts for $1000. What this gave us was time we wanted to see the parks slowly and memorably. We also stayed in the park which allowed us to be able to take our time at the parks because of the scheduled bus schedules.
Oh, one ore thing: we brought snacks for inside the park so we didn't have to spend money in the park for snacks over 6 years ago

We skipped Universal because of its lack of offering packages like DW and the fact that it wasn't as "kid" themed as DW over 6 years ago

Agreed with Patrick! Skip Universal because they don't have packaged deals besides a 2-day deal to visit Universal and Islands of Adventure. Your kids are young so they won't likely be able to go on a lot of the rides at Universal.

Instead, opt for a hotel with a kitchen - we've always stayed here: http://www.staycoralcay.com/vacation-townhomes/floor-plan-a/. This way you can save on meals by eating in. Or you can check out the Disney Dining Plan (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2014Dining.pdf) However I found it cheaper just to cook at the hotel.

Also a lot of hotels offer discounts on Disney family tickets, that's what we've always done. You have to be careful where you purchase your tickets as sometimes they tend to be scams. Good luck! almost 4 years ago
