Is the end of May a good time? Which are the 'don't miss' cities and sights?

Perhaps provide more information. Most of the cruises are set routes from Seattle/Vancouver trip to Seward. Most cover the same ports. I went in mid-June last year, the weather was great, but we were extremely lucky as the bad weather seemed to always be 1 day ahead. In Juneau they had cancelled all helicopter flights the day before, and the ship was only in port for one day. You can play the odds but there's no guarantees. over 6 years ago

End of May is a great time, as the mountains will still retain a great deal of snow and be more picturesque. Sail from Vancouver. Must sees: Ketchikan, Skagway, A day observing the glaciers and possibly Sitka, the most pretty town of them all. over 6 years ago

Get a cabin with a veranda, it may cost bit more but it's worth every penny, there's nothing better than sitting out on your own deck, having your morning coffee, watching whales, eagles and all the other wonderful sites go by.
We did the cruise several years ago, would do it again in a heartbeat.....enjoy over 6 years ago

MOst defiantly look for a cruise ship that goes into Glacier Bay National Park for the day, it was the most beautiful place I have ever been! And would really like to re-visit. The weather was excellent when we traveled in mid July, a few sprinkles of rain in two ports but it was not overwhelming. over 6 years ago

Alaska has been the most preferred destination for cruising. To explore the beauty of this arctic region, many cruise lines offers special discount and packages to fill your journey with comfort and warmth. May is the best month to explore this exotic place. Words cannot explain the sheer beauty and power of amazing creatures of Alaska. I have been very fortunate to travel around this place twice on the luxurious http://www.koshertravelers.com/cruises/2014/alaska1/default.asp cruises. I cannot forget the moment, watching Whales from inside the passage of cruise and the delicious cuisines offered on cruise. almost 5 years ago
