Stranded in San Diego is no hardship! After checking out the city, wending to Vegas through Anza Borrega Desert State Park and Joshua Tree would be a treat. 29 Palms is a very funky town; stay at the 29 Palms Inn to soak in some of wierdness, old rock and roll lore, and a cool poolside bar. Definitely go for a hike in Joshua Tree. You could also hit the Grand Canyon via Sedona, a gorgeous (spendy) town in Arizona on the way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Alays interesting, though a glib part of US history, are the War Relocation Camps for Japanese and Italian US citizens during WW2. There's a few in AZ in that area (Poston and Parker Dam) which now may be museums; well worth a visit of so. over 6 years ago

Temecula wine tours are about one hour away from San Diego! Go ask you concierge about options. Make sure you get one that picks you up and drops you off at your hotel! We loved it! about 6 years ago
