I used to work for a hotel in south Edinburgh and within the hotel was an amazing French restaurant owned and run by a French/Scottish couple. Hidden in the basement of the Salisbury hotel on Salisbury Road, Edinburgh, Cafe Cassis is an enchanting, authentic French bistro. The menu is beautiful and hands down the best restaurant I have been to in Edinburgh. almost 8 years ago

Earthy Foods in Canonmills is lovely. All organic and the tastiest cakes. Hannams on Victoria Terrace in town is lovely and you can do shisha pipe there too. The arcade on cockburn street does lovely burgers as does holyrood 9A. seriously i could give you place after place. Edinburgh is so full of amazing cafes and restaurants that you can't really go to far without finding one somewhere over 7 years ago
