From your hotel, you can take bus tours almost anywhere, but if you have a bad back (so do I) one day trips might be best. For example, a day trip to the Cotswalds or Bath. Closer still would be a trip to see a play at Stratford ... The bus will let you out as close to the entrance as possible. A lovely journey to the Lake District will involve an overnight, but the scenery is well worth the travel. When I travel now I carry along a unique little riding device called TRAVELSCOOT. Everywhere I go people want one. I have no connection to the company but my fellow bad bakers love them. Have a look at TRAVELSCOOT.COM. Let me know what you think. More than anything else, just point to a place on the map of southern England and ask the concierge what trip will take you there. Also google Bus Trips In England. Take a river cruise from Westminster in central London to Hampton Court, a lovely scenic journey that I think takes a couple of hours. You can take a short walk once there to a restaurant and view Henry VIII's palace from a distance. A nearby train will take you back into London. almost 7 years ago
