My wife and I are planning to spend 6 days in Scotland from Jan 3-8. We've no idea of where to go other than Edinbourgh. Can anyone help us?

It's going to be cold, and if the weather is the same in January as it was this year, then moving around will not be easy - way too much snow and ice this year.
Edinburgh is a fab city and you could easily spend a few days there. Glasgow has some great museums and is worth a visit, as are the Highlands if the weather allows. over 9 years ago -
Agree with Sam, you can easily spend a few days in Edinburgh. Weather permitting (last year we indeed had a lot of snow) going up the A9 to Inverness, see Loch Ness ;) see Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor and Brodie Castle which is close to Speyide where there see many distilleries and weather is usually milder in Speyside/Moray
Have a great time in Scotland, you'll love it! over 9 years ago -
You might also consider Stirling if the weather is fine. Honestly, you could spend all 6 days in Edinburgh and environs. over 9 years ago
