Will be there Sept 2nd for a few days
As far as drinking places you have LOADS round there. You're within 5 minutes walk of Covent Garden, there are some good bar's along Great Queen Street & Longacre.
One of my favourite Thai restaurants in London is directly behind Hoborn station at the end of a passage way. Either turn left out of the station and take first passage on the left or turn right take the 2nd passage on the right. I think it's called Poo's Thai Brasserie and it is very quiet, with a small outside area that looks down towards Lincolns Inn Fields.
Dow High Holborn you also have a couple of Hotel Bars, and a massive variety of food places from informal noodle bars to silver service within the hotel. about 10 years ago
As above there are a world of places worth discovering around there - try these recomended by www.thegoodpubguide.co.uk

I've been to a fab pub there called The White Hart. It's a standard decent English pub with a nice vibe and a decent menu. Enjoy your trip!
