You won't get cheap flats there, but cheap surrounding areas include pimlico, camberwell, kennington and Brixton. But they're not the safest/nicest areas. If you want safe and cheap, look at overground train stops that go to Waterloo out of central London. Have a look on gumtree to get an indication of prices. almost 9 years ago
There is a direct correlation between price & niceness. Taking the train to Waterloo is a great suggestion, but you will lose out on living in London, and have the cost & unpleasantness of commuting. If you want cheap then Lambeth is the place, if you want nice then Pimlico which is actually the nicest place to live in London, yet not as expensive as neighbouring Belgravia & Chelsea, and you can walk to St. Thomas' Hospital.
www.pimlico-flats.co.uk has lots of information & they rent directly to the public saving agent's fees. almost 9 years agoAnswered by Nick via WorldNomads.com
Many visitors to London like to stay in the Westminster/Victoria area, because of the proximity to the Gatwick Express and national rail links that operate from London Victoria station. The area is also convenient for the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. There are some good flats that I found at http://www.plazaestates.co.uk/properties-to-rent-in-sw1 whose rates tend to be suitable for those who require a greater level of luxury and quality whilst staying in this particular area. about 7 years ago
