Gary, the latest British FCO advice is this:
"According to latest information, Luxor, Aswan and the Red Sea Resorts, including Sharm el Sheikh, are calm. However, the situation across Egypt is unpredictable and may change quickly. You should stay in touch with your tour operator.
The Suez Canal is operating normally."
Egypt is much calmer than it was a month or two back, but there is significant political and social change underway, so things are unpredictable.
If you're still nervous, ring the tour operator and ask them what extra security they have in place, what their plan is if trouble suddenly erupts. And make sure you read your travel insurance policy closely to see what you're covered for, so you understand your rights (and obligations).
No need to be too worried, just a bit of preparation and increased understanding will allay your fears and allow you to enjoy your trip. Let us know how it went when you get home.
